International recognition for Costa Navarino
Recent accolades add to the impressive list of awards and distinctions received by Costa Navarino. The Romanos, A Luxury Collection Resort has been named by CNN’s travel website CNN GO, as one of the “World’s best coastal resorts”.




Also recently, The Bay Course, the second signature golf course at Costa Navarino has been named among the ‘Best of the Best: Golf Courses’ by the highly acclaimed Robb Report’s 2012 list, marking an incredible achievement for the course that only opened ten months ago.


Looking ahead to the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards held in London this September, both Inbi (design by MKV Design) and Barbouni (design by K-Studio) at Costa Navarino, feature in the International restaurant shortlist (Europe).


Omega
The successful Omega concept, a unique and innovative culinary experience launched last year in Costa Navarino, is taking place this summer, with the presence of acclaimed chefs that create special menus and give masterclasses based on the ‘Omega diet’. Following the presence of Host Chef Doxis Bekris together with Dr. Fedon Lindberg, as well as guest chef Konstantin Filippou (until 28.07), the program of Omega continues with guest chefs Rene Poysl (29.07-09.08), Lefteris Lazarou (10-18.08), Ronny Portoulidis (19-30.08) and Ettore Botrini (31.08-09.09). Omega is supported by Gaea, Aegean Airlines and Navarino Vineyards, and is powered by Gaggenau Neff.


Wine grape harvesting and seminars
Costa Navarino offers its guests the opportunity to become acquainted with the Messinian and Greek wine culture, through a series of seminars and participation in the traditional wine harvesting process, which has been a significant part of people’s lives for centuries. Through a short distance trip to Navarino Vineyards between mid-August and mid-October, participants learn how the grapes are traditionally grown and harvested, hand-pick
the fruits and actively join the grape treading (taking place until mid-September). On specific dates guests have the chance to take part in the seminars given by Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, the only Greek Master of Wine (23-25/8 & 6-8/9).


Special packages with airberlin
The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino have partnered with airberlin to offer guests the opportunity to fly directly from Germany to Kalamata and visit Costa Navarino, through special packages.


Musical evenings with the soprano Katia Paschou
The soprano Katia Paschou together with the pianist Manolis Papasifakis, will offer two exclusive performances to guests staying at Costa Navarino on August 9th and 10th (Anax Lounge & Bar). The first evening will include french songs by Poulenc, Satie, Hahn, Debussy and a small tribute to the Massenet year, while the second evening will be dedicated to Verdi's and Puccini's Italian opera, as well as light waltzes from the Greek and German operetta.

Navarino Environmental Observatory (NEO) formed through the cooperation between Stockholm University, the Academy of Athens and TEMES, and located in Costa Navarino, will hold the official inauguration of its facilities in October. NEO is dedicated to research and education on the climate and environment in the Mediterranean region. More on NEO's inauguration coming up soon...
